Welcome to our Experiential Learning Community We recommend you visit the Instructions page to learn how to manage and use this profile

The goal of this project is to create a knowledge hub for participants to have a common place to share their work, communicate with others in the community and collaborate together in ways they find beneficial.

The community consists of North Hero 6th Grade students, Alburgh 5 th Grade students, Sheldon 5th grade students and a homeschooling group with a similiar age span. The members will spend the next months learning about their place in the Lake Champlain Watershed, its role and importance in forming the watershed's unique characteristics.

Place has many components and our first task will be to identify the areas that we think are most important to study in greater detail. Research can be done through interviews, readings, library searches, personal knowledge, or any of a number of ways in which the story of place can be brought to life.

What do you think of when someone asks you where you live? Do you describe the streets and houses or perhaps some of the people that are you neighbors? These descriptions and the stories you know or discover will be the fabric of our wiki. In the end, the individual pieces each community member brings will form the "quilt" that descibes the watershed.

We are the first members to move in and set up shop in this community. Hopefully, each year will see more members joining in the effort and eventually we will have a rich portrait of our place, one that we can refer back to, be proud of and use to learn more of ourselves.
