Maggie Sherman worked with Sid Parnes, founder of the 54 year old Creative Education Foundation, to make a permanent memory of the hands that co-invented Creative Problem Solving.
The resulting collaboration produced an autographed “HandBook” made from Sid’s casted hands, filled with handmade papers of Egyptian papyrus and Thailand mango fiber, and bound together with Vermont sumac sticks. This artist’s book was auctioned at the Creative Problem Solving Institute’s annual conference (June '09) in Danvers, MA and raised $2,000 for the organization to promote and educate children and adults in creative thinking throughout the world.
The Creative Problem Solving Institute (CPSI – www.cpsiconference.com ), a program of the Creative Education Foundation, is the oldest and longest running conference dedicated to the teaching and practice of creativity and innovation.
